COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 14/15 Ohio State men's hockey team fell to Sacred Heart in overtime, 2-1, Friday in Value City Arena. The Buckeyes led 1-0 after the second period, but a Pioneer power play goal tied the game in the third and SHU won in the first minute of overtime.

How it Happened
- There were no goals scored in the first period. The Pioneers held a 7-4 edge in shots and had the only power play chance.
- Sacred Heart appeared to open the scoring 13:17 into the second, but Ohio State successfully challenged for offsides.
- Buckeye Nathan Lewis put the Buckeyes on the board at 15:29 of the second period with a power play goal. Nearing the end of a power play chance, Sam McGinley passed to Nathan McBrayer, who found Lewis in the high slot and his wrist shot got through for his second goal of the season. McGinley's assist was his first point as a Buckeye.
- The Buckeyes had the advantage in shots, 12-7, in the middle stanza. The Pioneers had two power play chances and the Buckeyes were 1-for-1.
- Twenty seconds into a power play opportunity in the third, Sacred Heart tied the game with a Felix Trudeau tally at 15:29. It was the Pioneers' only chance with the man advantage in the period.
- The Buckeyes were unable to convert two power play chances in the third.
- Sacred Heart was ahead in shots in the third, 9-7.
- Just 23 seconds into the 3-on-3 overtime, Trudeau notched his second of the game to give the Pioneers the win, scoring from the high slot. It was the only shot of overtime.
- For the game, the Buckeyes were outshot, 24-23. Buckeye goalie Kristoffer Eberly and SHU's Ajeet Gundarah each made 22 saves
- Ohio State had 14 shot blocks, led by Felix Caron with three and William Smith and Ryan Gordon with two each. SHU had 12 shot blocks.
- The Buckeyes were 1-for-3 on the power play and the penalty kill was 3-for-4.
