COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced the 2025-26 Preseason All-Big Ten Team as well as the top five teams in the preseason poll for both the league's head coaches and media on Thursday. Sophomore guard Jaloni Cambridge was named to the Preseason All-Big Ten Team by both the coaches and media, while both groups selected Ohio State to finish five in the conference this season.
In 2024-25, Cambridge was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year by both the coaches (co) and media. She was also a unanimous All-Big Ten First Team selection by the coaches and was the first member of the All-Big Ten Second Team by the media. Cambridge was selected as a finalist for the WBCA Coaches' All-America Team and to the USBWA Ann Meyers Drysdale Player of the Year midseason top 50 list. The USBWA National Freshman of the Week led the conference with four Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors and was twice named to the Big Ten weekly honor roll.
As a freshman, Cambridge ranked 16th in the conference in scoring (15.4 ppg), 10th in assists/game (3.9) and sixth in steals/game (2.0). She was one of only eight players in the conference and the only Buckeye to record more than one 30-point game last season. Cambridge scored 33 points in the Feb. 26 win against Michigan State – the most points by a Buckeye freshman since Kelsey Mitchell. Cambridge led the team with nine 20-point games and 113 assists and was second in scoring (15.4 ppg), steals (59), field goals made (167) and free throws made (88). She scored in double figures in both NCAA Tournament games.
Ohio State begins the season on Nov. 9, hosting Coppin State. View the Buckeyes' 2025-26 schedule HERE.
