COLUMBUS, Ohio – Amanda Schlueter scored twice in the 81st minute to lift Ohio State past Maryland, 3–1, completing a dominant second-half comeback on Sunday. The win marks the Buckeyes' first back-to-back Big Ten road victories since 2018.
Schlueter's back-to-back goals—one low to the center of the net and another high to the right—came just seconds apart and secured the Buckeyes' third straight win.
With her two goals, Schlueter now has 24 in her career and 71 career points, placing her in the top 10 for career points in program history. Her late surge broke a 1–1 tie and capped a relentless second-half effort from Ohio State.
The Buckeyes trailed 1–0 at halftime after Maryland's Kelsey Smith put the Terrapins ahead in the 30th minute off an assist from Lisa McIntyre. Ohio State equalized early in the second half when Elle Britt scored in the 48th minute, sparking momentum for the Buckeyes.
From there, Ohio State controlled possession and peppered Maryland goalkeeper Maya Cheeseboro with shots from Schlueter, Ava Greco, and Mirann Gacioch. The Buckeyes' pressure finally paid off with Schlueter's decisive pair of goals late in the match.
Ohio State's defense held strong in the closing minutes, keeping Maryland off the board to preserve the 3–1 victory.
