Ohio State returns home to take on No. 12 Michigan Tuesday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State (5-6, 2-3) took to the road to face No. 20 Indiana (8-3-1, 3-3) Friday and came away with a 4-2 setback at Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington.

Indiana scored first in the 17' on a goal by Easton Bogard shortly after he found the back of the net a couple minutes earlier but Indiana was ruled offsides to negate the score. The counter was assisted by Palmer Ault.
Buckeye senior defender Thomas Gilej then got the equalizer in the 37' from far outside the box in the center of the field on a long strike assisted by Nyle Waugh and Luciano Pechota.

The Gilej goal was the third of his career and first of the season. Pechota has 15 career assists. For Waugh, it was his first.
Ohio State keeper Max Trejo then made a crucial save with just over a minute left in the half to send the teams to the locker room knotted at 1-all.

Trejo made six saves and faced 20 shots Friday. He is now 5-6 in goal this year.
Freshman Michael Ndiweni put Ohio State in the lead early in the second half with a score off a rebound shot taken by Nathan Demian in the 49'. It was Ndiweni's first career score and Demian's second career assist.

Indiana scored through traffic off the foot of Ben Do to make it 2-all in the 55'. The Hoosiers then took the lead in the 68' on a goal by Ault. Do added another score in the 90' to end the scoring.
The match against the Hoosiers was the first of four-consecutive games against opponents ranked among the Top 25 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll.

The Buckeyes return to Columbus for the next two matches, both against ranked opponents at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. First, No. 13 Michigan takes on Ohio State at 6 p.m. Tuesday before a noon match against No. 15 Maryland Oct. 18. Both matches will be televised nationally on the Big Ten Network.
