Buckeyes in a Nutshell
- Friday's game is the Buckeyes' first on home ice in 54 days. The last time the team played at home, it earned a split against No. 1 Wisconsin. Ohio State enters the weekend following a road series against the Badgers in which the team fell 6-0 in Madison but responded with a shootout victory outdoors at Wrigley Field.
- The Buckeyes are 5-3-1 this season at home with ranked wins over No. 1 Wisconsin, No. 2 Minnesota and No. 6 Cornell.
- Joy Dunne leads the Buckeyes with 26 points (13G, 13A) on the year. She is in the top 10 nationally in goals per game (.62) and top 20 in points per game (1.24).
- Emma Peschel joins Dunne, Jenna Buglioni (24) and Jocelyn Amos (23) with 20 points this season. Her 16 assists lead the Buckeyes and tie her career high for assists in a season.
- Jordyn Petrie scored the team's first goal of the season just 1:39 into the game and recorded the team's first tally of 2025, scoring only 49 seconds into last Saturday's game against Wisconsin. The rookie has scored four of her 10 goals on the year in the first five minutes of the game with a goal 4:08 into the 1-1 shootout win against Minnesota (Oct. 12) and another goal 2:38 into the 5-1 win at St. Cloud State (Oct. 18).
- Ohio State is tied for first in the country with four shorthanded goals on the year. Buglioni is tied for first nationally with two shorthanded goals this season. With five shorthanded goals for her career, the Buckeye captain is one shy of tying the program record of six.
- Graduate Amanda Thiele leads Buckeye netminders with an 8-4-2 record. She owns a .881 save percentage through 14 games played this year. All four goaltenders have seen action this season with Hailey MacLeod earning a 4-1-1 record with two shutouts, Lexi Secreto earning a win and a shutout in her first start for the Buckeyes and Genny Klein recording a .929 save percentage in 36 minutes of play in her first collegiate season. - Ohio State and Bemidji State met in the fall in Bemidji, Minn. with the Buckeyes earning 8-2 and 3-0 wins for the series sweep.
- The Buckeyes are 64-29-13 all-time against the Beaves and have won the last 15 games of the series.
- The last time the teams met in Columbus was for the 2024 WCHA Tournament. The Buckeyes earned 10-1 and 8-0 wins to advance to the Final Faceoff.
- Emma Peschel's four-point game at Bemidji State Sept. 27 is the season-best for the Buckeyes this year. Petrie and Makenna Webster each scored twice in that game to tie for the most goals in a game by a Buckeye this season.
