Amos Nets Four Goals in Buckeyes’ 6-0 Win Over Bemidji State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore forward Jocelyn Amos scored four goals Friday to help the Ohio State women's hockey team defeat Bemidji State, 6-0, in its first game back at the OSU Ice Rink in 54 days. The Buckeyes improved to 14-5-3 and 9-5-3 in WCHA play after the game one win over the Beavers (4-17-1, 2-13-0 WCHA) in Columbus.
Short Story
Ohio State's goal scoring mirrored the period of play with one goal in the first period, two in the second and three in the third.
Maddi Wheeler tallied the first goal of the day with three minutes to play in the opening frame for her 100th career point. Amos scored twice in the first four minutes of the middle frame to grow the Buckeyes' lead to 3-0 at the second intermission. Jordyn Petrie scored her second goal in two games for the Buckeyes at the start the third period and Amos added two more on the power play to hand the Buckeyes the 6-0 win.
Amanda Thiele made 16 saves in the game to earn her first shutout of the season.
The Buckeyes finished 3-for-5 on the power play, their best performance on the player-advantage this season.

Game Notes
- Amos recorded her first career hat trick with four goals in the game. Her previous career best was two. The Ailsa Craig, Ont. native's three power play goals tie the program record set by Emma Laaksonen on March 2, 2001.
- Wheeler's 100th career point came on her 18th point as a Buckeye. She is the fourth player on Ohio State's roster with 100 career points, joining Buglioni (149), Webster (139) and Zanon (176).
- In addition to the shutout, Thiele also recorded her first point of the season with an assist on the Buckeyes third power play goal of the day. She has tallied five helpers in her career.
- Mira Jungåker tallied her first collegiate points in the game with assists on two of the Buckeyes' three power play goals. Jungåker has played in four games for the Buckeyes after missing most of the first half of the season with an injury.
- Ohio State's three power play goal game marked the first time since the 6-5 win vs. Minnesota on Oct. 28, 2023, that the team scored three power play goals in a game.
