COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 7 Ohio State men's gymnastics team opens the 2025 season at the West Point Open on Friday at 7 p.m. The Buckeyes will face No. 11 Army, No. 10 Navy, No. 13 Springfield and No. 14 William & Mary.

Ohio State was selected seventh in the preseason College Gymnastics Association coaches' poll.
Senior Kameron Nelson and junior Jesse Pakele were named Big Ten Gymnasts to Watch prior to the start of the season.
Nelson is a 2025 team captain and five-time All-American (2024 CGA regular season on floor, 2024 NCAA Championships on floor, 2023 NCAA Championships on floor, vault and all-around). He is the 2022 Big Ten vault champion and is a three-time All-Big Ten honoree.
Pakele posted career-highs on floor (14.250), pommel horse (13.950) and rings (13.350) last season, competing in all three of those events in the Big Ten Championships, NCAA Qualifiers and NCAA Championships.
The Buckeyes finished sixth at the 2024 NCAA Championships after advancing to the finals as a team.
Ohio State had five All-Americans at the NCAA Championships – Nelson and Chase Davenport-Mills on floor, Parker Thackston on pommel horse, Kazuki Hayashi on vault and Caden Spencer on high bar. Nelson, Thackston and Spencer were All-Big Ten Second Team honorees as well.
The Buckeyes also had five CGA regular season All-Americans in 2024, including Nelson on floor, Thackston on pommel horse, Donovan Hewitt on rings, Justin Ciccone on vault and Spencer on high bar.
Hewitt was a Nissen Emery Award finalist last season.
During the offseason, head coach Rustam Sharipov was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame.

The Buckeyes home opener is on Friday, Jan. 17 against Greenville at 6 p.m. inside the Covelli Center. All home meets feature free admission and parking.
