COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday its 2025 Men's Lacrosse Players to Watch and preseason coaches' poll. Cullen Brown, Alex Marinier and Bobby Van Buren of the Ohio State men's lacrosse team were named Players to Watch while the Buckeyes were picked fifth in the league.
Brown started every game of his sophomore season for the Buckeyes at close defense. He led non-faceoff players with 51 ground balls and finished the season with a career-high 17 caused turnovers. He helped lead a Buckeye defense that led the Big Ten in caused turnovers, clears and ground balls per game.
Marinier was the Buckeyes' leading goal scorer in 2024 with 28 goals in his first season moving from defense to an attackman. He finished his junior campaign with a team-high tying 30 points. The Burlington, Ontario native recorded a point in all but one game of the 15-game season and also led the team with four man-up goals.
Van Buren returns to the Buckeyes' lineup after an injury sidelined him for most of the 2024 season. He has started 27 of 33 games in his Ohio State career with 43 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. Van Buren, now a senior, is a two-time All-Big Ten honoree.
The Buckeyes start their season this Saturday at Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. The team will host Utah in the season opener at noon. Tickets for Ohio State men's lacrosse games can be purchased HERE.
