COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State junior Jack Anthrop has been named a 2025 Big Ten Men’s Tennis Player to Watch this season. New for this year, the Big Ten has announced a player to watch from each team for the 2025 dual season.
Anthrop is coming off a great sophomore season that saw him win 41 singles matches and earn his first All-America honors. His 41 victories were tied for the fifth-most in a single season in program history. After a solid fall season where he was a singles semifinalist at both the ITA Midwest Regional and the ITA Fall National Championship, he did not drop a singles match in the dual season until the NCAA Tournament in May. In doubles, he went on a run during the team portion of the NCAA Tournament with Cannon Kingsley, going 4-0 to earn All-Tournament team honors at No. 3 doubles.
As a freshman in 2022-23, he lost just one singles match over the final four months of the season and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament team at No. 6 singles.
The Orlando, Fla., native has a combined career record of 87-19 and will be a fixture in the Buckeyes lineup again this season.
