Joe Wilson IV Leads Buckeyes on Day 1 of Blessings Collegiate

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State opened The Blessings Collegiate Invitational with a round of 12-over 300 and is in fifth place heading into round two.
The Buckeyes had a tough start to the round, playing the opening nine in 12-over par. But they came home strong with an even-par back nine to finish with a 300.
Redshirt-sophomore Joe Wilson IV continued his recent run of good play by making four birdies in his round of 1-over 73 to lead the Buckeyes in the opening round. He is tied for 12th with two rounds to play.
Freshman Vaughn Harber was a shot behind Wilson IV with a 74 while Jack Vojtko posted a 76 and Tyler Sabo and Timotej Formanek each carded a 77.
The week is a unique event as all five players are playing in the same group. There are 10 men's and 10 women's teams from the same schools competing and at the end of the event, there will be an individual men's and women's champion, a men's and women's team champion and one combined school champion.
The Ohio State women opened with a round of 308 led by a 74 from Kary Hollenbaugh.
