No. 11 Ohio State Plays to 2-2 Draw with No. 1 Michigan State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 11 Ohio State went blow-for-blow with No. 1 Michigan State on Thursday night at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium and played to a 2-2 draw.
The Buckeyes are unbeaten in their last five matches and are now 7-1-3 on the season and 2-0-2 in Big Ten play.
Ohio State certainly had more quality offensive chances on the night, outshooting MSU 20-10 and forcing seven saves from the Spartan keeper. In comparison, Buckeye goalkeeper Molly Pritchard made just two saves.
Senior forward Kailyn Dudukovich scored both of the Buckeyes’ goals in the match. She now ties Lisa Grubb and Lisa Collison for second place all-time in program history with 35 career goals.
How it Happened
Kailyn Dudukovich put the Buckeyes on the board in the 26th minute of the match. After a deflected cross from Jacinda Bonham, Dudukovich took a touch around the defender and found the low left corner of the net.

In the 39th minute Michigan State leveled the score from just inside the top of the box.
Just 3 minutes into the second half, the Spartans were awarded a penalty kick and scored to gain the lead.
Dudukovich put the Buckeyes on the board again in the 61st minute. Amanda Schlueter picked up the ball at midfield and passed it ahead Peyton McNamara. McNamara slipped the ball through the Michigan State defenders to Dudukovich, who snuck the ball under the goalkeeper to find the back of the net.

For the final 25 minutes, the Buckeyes were on the front foot. Schlueter had a couple of chances and Jadin Bonham had a dangerous shot deflect off the post.
This was the fourth of four-consecutive home matches and Buckeye Nation certainly showed up. The fans provided a great atmosphere for Our Honor Defend night where the program honored all active and former military members. The largest crowd of the year was treated to an excellent soccer match.
