
Ice Breaker Tournament to be Played at the Schottenstein Center

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 2024 Women's Ice Breaker Tournament set for Oct. 25-26 in Columbus will now be played at the Schottenstein Center. The tournament hosted by Ohio State will also include Cornell, Penn State and Stonehill.

The tournament will consist of four games, with each team playing two. The Nittany Lions and Big Red will face off at noon and the Buckeyes and Skyhawks will play at 3 p.m. Winners of Friday's games advance to Saturday's championship game at 4 p.m. and the losers will play a consolation game Saturday at 1 p.m.

The tournament marks the first time since the 2015-16 season that the women's hockey team will play in the Schottenstein Center.

Ice Breaker Tickets
Tickets for the 2024 Women's Ice Breaker Tournament are on sale now. Seating will be general admission, and pricing will be consistent with regular season women's home game single game ticket prices, including $11 for adults and $9 for youth, students and seniors.

Friday's schedule at the Schottenstein Center includes a men's hockey game vs. Bowling Green at 7 p.m. That day, a women's and men's hockey ticket package, which includes one ticket to the Ice Breaker games and the men's hockey game vs. the Falcons, is available for purchase HERE.  Â

Parking Updates
For Friday's women's hockey game, fans can park in the Gray lots.Â
Ohio State football will be hosting Nebraska at noon Saturday and traffic will be heavy until kickoff. Fans attending the consolation game at 1 p.m. Saturday are recommended to arrive at noon or later to avoid traffic. Parking will be in the Gray 1 and 2 and Scarlet 1-5 lots adjacent to the Schottenstein Center. Fans attending the championship game are encouraged to arrive not later than 3 p.m. to avoid traffic leaving Ohio Stadium. Doors to the Schottenstein Center open at noon and will remain open until the end of the championship game.Â

Women's Ice Breaker History
This season marks the fourth Women's Ice Breaker Tournament. The Ice Breaker Tournament was created by the Hockey Commissioners Association in order to celebrate the start of the season with teams from a variety of NCAA Division I conferences. The event has a legislative exemption from the NCAA which allows the four participants to play two additional games above the normal limit of 34.
