
Buckeyes End Paris Games with Pair of Top 7 Finishes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – After Elodie Ravera Scaramozzino (France) and teammate Ester Briz Zamorano took fifth-place Thursday in the finals of the Women's Double Sculls event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, another former Buckeye, Aina Cid I Centelles, took seventh Friday in the Women's Pair event.
Centelles (Spain) with Ester Briz Zamorano, completed their 2024 Olympics competition Friday winning the Women's Pair B Finals to take 7th overall (7:07.08). Centelles owns three Top 7 finishes in Olympics competition during her career. Â
This was the best finish for Scaramozzino in three career Olympic competitions. She finished sixth in the 2016 Rio Games and then eighth in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, both as a member of France's women's double sculls entry. Â
Centelles owns a pair of sixth-place finishes in both the 2020 Tokyo and 2016 Rio Games.Â
The pair of former Ohio State rowers competed at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium's 2000-meter course at the Paris Games.Â
Scaramozzino lettered with the Buckeyes in 2014 as a member of the first varsity eight. Ohio State won the 2014 NCAA Championship after claiming the 2014 Big Ten Title. The first varsity eight also was the individual boat champion in both the Big Ten and NCAA championships that year.
Centelles helped the Buckeyes to three NCAA Rowing Championships in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
She rowed with the first varsity four in 2013 and then with the first varsity eight in both 2014 and 2015.
