Sami Bewick, Lorin Boutte and Hadley Parisien will join Ohio State for 2024-25 campaign
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State head coach Kirin Kumar has added three players for the 2025 season, she announced today. They are: infielder Sami Bewick, pitcher Lorin Boutte and outfielder Hadley Parisien.
Bewick and Parisien, who are both rising sophomores, spent their freshmen seasons at Miami University. Boutte is an incoming freshman from St. Charles, Mo.
"Sami, Lorin and Hadley are all great people first and foremost," said Kumar. "I'm excited about what they will each add to the program both on and off the field. They've all had a good deal of success already in their careers and will bring that winning attitude to Ohio State."
Bewick had a breakout rookie season at Miami, earning MAC Freshman of the Year accolades after hitting .321 with 14 home runs, 55 RBI and 37 runs scored. Her 55 RBI were the most-ever by a Miami freshman. Bewick was also a first team All-MAC and first team All-Region selection.
In 27 conference games, Bewick hit .375 and had 15 extra base hits, drove in 29 runs and scored 24 times. Keyed by her performance in the MAC Tournament opener against Toledo that included a home run and three RBI, Bewick was named to the All-Tournament team while helping the RedHawks win their third consecutive title.
Bewick is a native of McMurray, Pa. and graduated from Peters Township High School. At Ohio State, she intends to study mechanical engineering.
Like Bewick, Parisien was a first team All-MAC selection last season at Miami while hitting .357 with eight home runs, 32 RBI and 27 runs scored. She was also a member of the MAC All-Freshman Team and earned third team All-Region honors.
Parisien upped her batting average by 20 points in MAC games, hitting .377 and also had a .429 on-base percentage. Her best game came against Central Michigan when she hit two home runs and drove in four runs on April 20. She also had a walk-off double in an 8-7 win over Louisville on March 16.
Parisien is from Odon, Ind. and an all-state player at North Daviess Jr./Sr. High School. She'll study physical therapy at Ohio State.
Boutte recently graduated from Francis Howell High School and hails from St. Charles, Mo. As a senior, she recorded 174 strikeouts in 102 innings and also hit .410 with 31 RBI en route to helping her team win a state championship. The year prior, she was just as good, notching 214 strikeouts in 132 innings while also contributing 34 RBI.
A Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year Finalist her junior season, Boutte added a conference and St. Louis Dispatch Metro Pitcher of the Year honor to her resume. She was also named first-team all-state and first-team all-region as a pitcher. She intends to study business at Ohio State.
