Buckeyes Take 12th at 2024 NCAA Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – After three days of racing at Harsha Lake at East Fork State Park in Bethel, Ohio, the Ohio State rowing team finished 12th at the 2024 NCAA Championships with 68 total points.
Buckeye boats earned two top 12 finishes with petite final appearances. The First and Second Varsity Eight boats placed 11th and the First Varsity Four took 15th overall.
Despite trailing for most of the race, the 2V8 surged in the final 250m to pass Cal and finish fifth in the petite final. The Buckeyes raced a time of 6:36.569, three hundredths of a second ahead of the Golden Bears for the extra two points. The boat beat its seed in the championship and earned 24 points.
The finish of the 1V8 petite final was a close one, with five of six boats finishing within 2.5 seconds of each other. Ohio State took fifth in the final, finishing in a time of 6:21.654 to add 36 points towards the final total. The boat improved on last year's 13th place finish and bested its No. 13 seed entering the championship.
The 1V4 took third in the C final, finishing ahead of Gonzaga, Indiana and Boston in a time of 7:22.771 for eight points.
Ohio State finished second among the four Big Ten teams at the NCAA Championships. This year marked the 24th NCAA Championship appearance in program history. This year's result ties the team's 2023 finish.
