
Alec Yoder to be Inducted into Indiana Gymnastics Hall of Fame

Yoder (’19) was an NCAA Champion on pommel horse and an Olympic finalist in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former Ohio State men's gymnast Alec Yoder ('19) will be inducted into the Indiana Gymnastics Hall of Fame on Saturday, July 13 at the Athenaeum Turners in Indianapolis. More information about the induction luncheon is listed below.
The 2019 NCAA pommel horse champion left his mark on the program as a nine-time All-American at the NCAA Championships. As a freshman, Yoder was the pommel horse runner-up and fifth in the all-around. As a sophomore in 2017, he finished fourth on pommel horse and sixth in the all-around. As a junior, Yoder was third in the all-around, fourth on pommel horse and seventh on parallel bars. He wrapped up his collegiate career by winning the pommel horse NCAA championship as a senior and also finishing sixth on parallel bars.
The 2019 Nissen Emery Award finalist was a three-time All-Big Ten First Team selection (2016, 2018, 2019) and was All-Big Ten Second Team in 2017. Yoder was named 2016 Big Ten Freshman of the Year after capturing the first of his two Big Ten pommel horse titles during his career (the other happening in 2019 as a senior). He also served as team captain as a junior and senior.
Yoder competed in the 2018 and 2021 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, finishing as the pommel horse runner-up in 2021. He also finished sixth in the pommel horse finals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. At the U.S. Championships, Yoder was the pommel horse champion in 2018 and the runner-up in 2021.
The INGHOF Induction Luncheon will be held on Saturday July 13th at the Athenaeum Turners located at 401 East Michigan Street in Indianapolis, IN 46204. The induction event will begin at noon with a guided historical tour of the Athenaeum Turners under the direction of Historian William Selm. The Athenaeum is a National Historical Landmark. The induction luncheon will begin at 1 p.m. in the Upper Ballroom. Banquet tickets are $30.00 each for adults and $11.00 for children under nine. The famous Rathskeller Restaurant will serve a German buffet luncheon. Everyone is invited to buy a ticket and attend this outstanding induction event now in its thirteenth year.
