Women’s 10000m Scores First Buckeye Points at Big Ten Championships

The Buckeyes kicked off the 2024 Big Ten Outdoor Championships on Friday in Ann Arbor.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track & field team began competition at the 2024 Big Ten Outdoor Championships on Friday.
PRELIMS
The Buckeyes continue competition at the 2024 Big Ten Championships on Saturday. The day's slate is scheduled to begin with the decathlon's 110m hurdles at 9:30 a.m. ET.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track & field team began competition at the 2024 Big Ten Outdoor Championships on Friday.
PRELIMS
- 400m hurdles: Chanler Robinson won her heat by running a personal-best time of 57.51 to improve her standing in fifth in program history. Her time was the second-fastest overall. Avery Clark finished 10th overall (1:00.56), missing the final qualifying spot by just 0.004 seconds.
- 200m: The Buckeye women will send three to the finals as Fatouma Conde ran the fastest prelims time (23.16 – PR) and Leah Bertrand won her heat for the second-fastest prelims time (23.26 – PR). Nya Bussey had a season-best time of 23.63 to finish eighth overall. Marcus Brown qualified for the men's 200m finals by finishing sixth overall (20.88 – PR) in the prelims.
- 1500m: Aniya Mosley qualified for the finals by winning her heat and finishing seventh overall with a time of 4:23.18. Alex Dediu finished third in his heat with a time of 3:56.91 to qualify for Sunday's final.
- 10000m: The Buckeyes earned their first points of the championship in the women's 10000m as Daniella Santos finished sixth (33:54.06) and Andrea Kuhn finished seventh (34:05.63). On the men's side, Zubin Jha led the Buckeyes with a time of 30:42.36.
- Pole vault: Morgan Fijalkowski rounded out the top-10 by clearing 3.97m / 13'0.25" on her first attempt.
- Hammer throw: Lacey Stringer led the Buckeye women in the hammer throw with a best mark of 56.35m / 184'10". Anthony Wilks led the Buckeye men with a best mark of 57.01m / 187'.
