COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track & field team continued competition at the 2024 Big Ten Outdoor Championships on Saturday. Hayden Tobias won the men's shot put on his final throw by hitting 20 meters for the first time this season (20.00m / 65'7.5"). He also won the Big Ten indoor shot put title this season.

Hayden Tobias won the men's shot put on his final throw by hitting 20 meters for the first time this season (20.00m / 65'7.5"). He also won the Big Ten indoor shot put title this season.

PRELIMS
- 100m: The Buckeye women are sending four to the finals as Fatouma Conde won her heat with a personal-best time of 11.45 for the second-fastest qualifying time. Leah Bertrand was third overall (11.48), while Nya Bussey won her heat and finished fifth overall (11.52) and Columba Effiong grabbed the final qualifying spot (11.63). On the men's side, Marcus Brown Jr. had the sixth-fastest qualifying time (10.56) to punch his ticket to the finals.
 - 400m: The Buckeye men had two qualify for the finals as Mason Louis won his heat (46.99) and had the fourth-fastest qualifying time, while Antonio Hanson had the third-fastest qualifying time (46.75). Bryannia Murphy won her heat with the fifth-fastest qualifying time (54.26) to send her to Sunday's final. Â
 - 100m hurdles: Marcia Sey qualified for Sunday's final by running a season-best 13.33, which was the third-fastest time in the prelims. Â
 - 800m: Aniya Mosley qualified for her second finals of the weekend by running the third-fastest qualifying time (2:06.08). On the men's side, Alex Kenish led the Buckeyes with a time of 1:51.69.
 
- High jump: Amaya Ugarte finished third by clearing 1.79m / 5'10.5" on her final attempt. Â
 - Shot put: Lacey Stringer finished fifth on the women's side with a best throw of 16.65m / 54'7.5". Behind Tobias' win on the men's side, Adam Riedinger finished ninth with a PR of 18.07m / 59'3.5".
 - 3000m steeplechase: Akemi Von Scherr finished eighth (10:41.47) and now ranks fifth in program history. Â
 - Long jump: DJ Fillmore finished eighth (7.43m / 24'4.5") on the men's side, while Zamesha Myle led the way for the Buckeye women with a personal-best mark of 5.64m / 18'6". Â
