Tim May, who has covered the Buckeyes for decades as a sportswriter and football historian, also will share insight into the history and tradition of everything Ohio State football.
From the earliest days of the game to the traditions known around the world, Scarlet & Gray Saturdays gives fans of every generation a chance to experience Ohio State football history in a whole new way.
"The story of Ohio State football is deeply woven into the history of our university, our state and generations of Buckeye fans. We are excited to share that story through a unique experience that celebrates the people, traditions and defining moments that have shaped one of college football's most storied programs," said Ross Bjork, senior vice president and Wolfe Foundation-Eugene Smith Endowed Athletics Director at The Ohio State University. "Through historic footage, personal memories and shared experiences, Scarlet & Gray Saturdays will honor the individuals, teams and traditions that have made Ohio State football an enduring source of pride for our university, our state and Buckeye Nation around the world.
"The event's origin began with Ohio Goes to the Movies, one of the Signature Programs of America 250-Ohio which highlights Ohio's contribution to movies. One of the goals of Ohio Goes to the Movies is to show archival footage of significant Ohio events and experiences", said Todd Kleismit, the commission's executive director. "Showcasing the Ohio State Buckeyes historic football footage as a capstone event for America 250-Ohio seemed like a natural way to celebrate Ohio's contribution to sports over the years. Ohio State football is beloved worldwide, and we look forward to showcasing footage of the football team and the Ohio State Marching Band 'best damn band in the land' at this milestone event."

About America 250-Ohio:
In 2026, the United States is celebrating its semiquincentennial, which is the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Each state is creating a celebration and commemoration of this anniversary to reflect the unique character and contributions of each state to the nation over the past 250 years. Ohio is fully embracing this opportunity. Cenovus Energy has signed on as the Visionary Sponsor for Ohio's statewide programming. The Ohio Commission for the Semiquincentennial (aka America 250-Ohio Commission or AM 250- OH) was created by the Ohio legislature and launched on March 1, 2022. The charge of the Commission is to "…to plan, encourage, develop, and coordinate the commemoration of the two hundred fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the United States and the impact of Ohioans on the nation's past, present, and future." — Ohio Revised Code (149.309).
