
Buckeyes Sweep Penn State 7-0 for 3rd Consecutive Clean Sheet

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 1 Ohio State took care of business on Friday night, sweeping a struggling Penn State team 7-0 to remain undefeated in Big Ten play.
The win marked the third-consecutive sweep for the Buckeyes, who are now 23-1 overall and 5-0 in the conference.
Justin Boulais, Alexander Bernard and Bryce Nakashima all claimed a pair of victories on the night.
The doubles point was a Buckeye domination. Nakashima and Bernard won 6-2 on court three and the No. 13 ranked team of Andrew Lutschaunig and Boulais also won 6-2 on court one. Robert Cash and JJ Tracy were one game away from winning 6-2 as well.
In singles, the Buckeyes lost just one set en route to winning all six singles matches. Bernard and Anthrop finished quickly and then Tracy had the clinching point with a 6-3, 6-1 victory on court three.
Boulais beat the lone ranked Nittany Lion, topping No. 98 Mike Eala 6-4, 6-4 on court one. Nakashima was the quickest match as he beat Jack Martuccio 6-0, 6-1 on court five. The final point came from Preston Stearns. After splitting the first two sets, he rolled to a 10-6 victory in the super-breaker to complete the sweep.
The win sets up a huge weekend next weekend in Columbus. The Buckeyes will host Michigan State on Saturday at noon. The Spartans are undefeated in Big Ten play headed into this weekend. Then on Sunday, the Buckeyes will take on rival Michigan.
