
Ohio State in the Mix After Round 1 of Big Ten Championship

Senior Jackson Chandler led the way with a 1-over 71
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior Jackson Chandler continued his solid play on Friday by carding a round of 1-over 71 to lead Ohio State in the opening round of the Big Ten Championship at Scioto Country Club.
As a team, the Buckeyes are in seventh place but just five shots out of second place.
Chandler, who is coming off a career-best tying runner-up finish at the Kepler Intercollegiate last week, made three birdies and four bogeys in his round on Friday. He is currently in a tie for eighth.
Fellow senior Adam Wallin made 14 pars in his opening round of 2-over 72 and finds himself in a tie for 14th. Maxwell Moldovan and Neal Shipley both had one tough hole in their rounds but outside of that, played a solid round. They both finished with a 4-over 74 and are tied for 32nd. Freshman Jack Vojtko got off to a rough start but played his final eight holes in just 1-over par to post a 77.
Northwestern shot a round of even par as a team and have a six-shot lead on Michigan State in second place. The Buckeyes are 11-over and will be first off on Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
