Ohio State Advances to NCAA Championships as a Team

The Buckeyes scored 408.725 to finish third as a team in the session and advance to Saturday’s championships.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 6 Ohio State men's gymnastics team (12-9, 1-3 B1G) finished third as a team in the NCAA Qualifiers on Friday evening inside the Covelli Center with 408.725 points, advancing to Saturday's NCAA Championships as a team.
Oklahoma (418.957), Michigan (418.954), Stanford (417.389), Nebraska (413.123) and Illinois (410.461) also qualified for the NCAA Championships as teams.
Event Results
Parallel Bars
Ohio State totaled 66.598 as a team in its opening rotation. Tyler Rockwood led the Buckeyes with a score of 13.933, followed by Jakob Murray's 13.556. Kazuki Hayashi (13.266), Caden Spencer (13.200) and Kristian Grahovski (12.633) rounded out the OSU rotation.
High Bar
The Buckeyes totaled 66.000 on high bar. Hayashi's 13.700 led the way, while Spencer and Jacob Harmon each earned a 13.500. Parker Thackston (12.800) and Chase Davenport-Mills (12.500) also competed on high bar for the Buckeyes. Spencer and Davenport-Mills each stuck their dismount.
Floor
OSU scored 69.066 as a team on floor with three final-pass sticks (Kameron Nelson, Davenport-Mills and Zach Snyder). Nelson led the team with a 14.633, while Davenport-Mills earned a 14.100. Hayashi (13.933), Snyder (13.700) and Jesse Pakele (12.700) wrapped up the Buckeyes' rotation.
Pommel Horse
Ohio State put together its second-best pommel horse team score of the season, totaling 68.166. Thackston's 14.966 was the highest Buckeye score. Grahovski followed with a 13.800, while Pakele earned 13.400. Rockwood's 13.100 and Michael Nguyen's 12.900 rounded out the OSU lineup.
Rings
The Buckeyes scored 66.564 as a team on rings. The rotation started with stuck dismounts from Arthur Ashton (13.466) and Rockwood (13.600). Donovan Hewitt also earned a 13.466, while Nelson earned a 13.166. Pakele wrapped up the rotation for the Buckeyes with a 12.866.
Vault
Ohio State wrapped up the meet and its team qualifying spot with a 72.331 on vault. Snyder led the Buckeyes with a 14.800 and a stick, while Davenport-Mills also stuck his vault (14.533). Hayashi (14.466), Nelson (14.233) and Justin Ciccone (14.233) also had strong vaults.
