COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State graduate student Jamison Battle has earned Academic All-America® honors for the 2023-24 season as selected by College Sports Communicators. Battle is just the third Buckeye to earn the distinction, joining Bill Hosket in 1968, Craig Barclay in 1969 and Aaron Craft, who earned the award three times from 2012-14.
To be eligible for academic All-American honors, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher (both undergraduate and graduate) and must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games.
Battle had a tremendous final season, making 91 three-pointers and shooting a career-best 43.3 percent from beyond the arc. His 43.3 percent was 10th nationally and his 91 threes were second-most in the Big Ten. For the year, he averaged 15.3 points per game and was second on the team at 5.2 rebounds per game. He had six games this season with five or more three-pointers. In the Buckeyes' five tournament games to end the season, Battle averaged 20.8 points and 7.6 rebounds while scoring 20 or more in four of the five games.
For his career, Battle finished with 2,016 career points and made 348 career three-pointers.
