Buckeyes Shine in the Classroom, Take Home NABC Academic Awards

Four players named to NABC Honors Court
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State men’s basketball had a great season both on and off the court in 2025-26 and was further recognized for its success in the classroom this week. The team received the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, and four players were named to the NABC Honors Court. In addition, two players were named Big Ten Distinguished Scholars.
Graduates Brandon Noel, Bruce Thornton and Christoph Tilly, along with Puff Johnson, were all named to the NABC Honors Court, which recognizes players who finished the 2025-26 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher and played in more than 50 percent of the games. The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2025-26 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Noel and Braylen Nash were also named Big Ten Distinguished Scholars this week. That award honors student-athletes who have recorded a minimum grade-point average of 3.7 or higher for the 2025-26 academic year.
