Buckeyes Head to Detroit for NCAA Regionals

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Saturday, 23 members of the Ohio State fencing program are set to compete in the NCAA Midwest Regional in Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit.

The women's competition will begin at 9 a.m., with the men fencing at 1 p.m. Live results will be available HERE.

Ohio State will be competing with fencers from Cleveland State, Denison, Detroit Mercy, Lawrence, Northwestern, Notre Dame and Wayne State.

Athletes in bold competed at the 2023 NCAA Regionals. Of that group, Cervantes, Lee, Mazur, Myroniuk, Ndiaye, Veltrup and Viveros were chosen for the NCAA Championships.

NCAA Selection

The athletes selected for the NCAA Championships will be announced on NCAA.com March 12.
Qualification to the NCAA Championships is based on regular season results and NCAA regional finish. No more than two fencers per gender per weapon may be selected.
Each region is allocated a certain number of spots for the NCAA Championships, with 144 total competitors selected. This year, the Midwest Region has five NCAA allocations in men's and women's epee and women's foil and four in men's foil and men's and women's saber. All six weapons will also have two at-large spots.

NCAA Championships in Columbus March 21-24

Ohio State will host the 2024 NCAA Championships March 21-24 in French Field House and St. John Arena. Tickets are on sale now. All-session tickets can be purchased HERE and single-session are available HERE.
