Buckeyes Fall at No. 6/4 Michigan in B1G Opener, 11-5

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's lacrosse team dropped its first conference game of the season to No. 6/4 Michigan, 11-5, Thursday evening in Ann Arbor, Mich. Ohio State is 5-2 this season, with the Wolverines 7-0.

The teams were tied at two early in the game but Michigan scored seven of the next eight goals for a 9-3 advantage through three quarters. Each team scored twice in the fourth stanza for the 11-5 final. Regan Alexander had 12 saves in the Buckeye cage. Annie Hargraves and Zoe Coleman each scored twice for the Buckeyes and Jamie Lasda had three assists. Emily Magalotti had a goal and team-best four ground balls and two caused turnovers.

How it Happened
- Ohio State went ahead twice in the first quarter, answered by the Wolverines each time.
- Jamie Lasda set up Emily Magalotti at 12:30, with UM responding at 9:43.
- Zoe Coleman scored for the Buckeyes from a sharp angle at 7:44, but Michigan tied the game less than a minute later.
- Michigan scored twice more before the end of the quarter for a 4-2 lead through 15 minutes.
- Each team scored once in the second quarter for a 5-3 game at the half. Lasda found Annie Hargraves at 13:31 and at 12:06 UM tallied.
- The Wolverines scored four third-quarter goals while shutting out the Buckeyes to lead 9-3 at the last quarter break.
- Michigan's Kaylee Dyer notched her fifth of the game at 12:10 of the fourth.
- Lasda set up a Hargraves goal to end the Wolverines' six-goal run at 10:23.
- Michigan scored its final goal on a free position chance with 6:11 remaining and Brynn Ammerman set up Coleman in the final minute with the Buckeyes player-up for the game's last tally.
- Buckeye goalie Regan Alexander made 12 saves in the cage and UM's goalie had seven stops. The Buckeyes were outshot, 31-20.
- Michigan had the edge in draw controls, 17-3, with the Buckeyes ahead in ground balls, 12-10.

- Hargraves had her second straight two-goal game and her third multiple-goal game of the season. She has 10 goals on the year.

She moved her scoring streak to a career-high tying 13 games and has 33 goals, 16 assists and 49 points in the stretch. In her career, Lasda has 86 goals, 47 assists and 133 points in 49 games.
- Ammerman has at least one point in each game this season and is second on the squad with 25 points, ranking first with 15 assists.
- Magalotti now has goals in three straight games and four on the year.
- Alexander had a third straight game with double-digit saves. She has 57 stops on the year.
- Coleman had her fifth career two-goal game and has 13 points this year, including seven goals.
- Leah Sax and Kampbell Stone were both held off the scoresheet for the first time this season.
