
Ohio State Completes Day One at Boston University and Clemson

The Buckeyes posted some personal and season bests on Friday as they split the squad.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track & field team began the weekend's competition at the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Friday.
- TIGER PAW INVITATIONAL
- Pole vault: Abbey Kuhn had the highest clearance for the Buckeye women this season by clearing 3.95m / 12'11.5" on her second attempt to finish fifth.
- Long jump: DJ Fillmore had a big personal-best mark of 7.65m / 25'1.25" to finish sixth overall.
- Weight throw: Hayden Tobias finished 10th on the men's side with a personal-best throw of 19.02m / 62'5", while Lacey Stringer's best throw (17.71m / 58'1.25") was the best among the Buckeye women this season.
- 60m hurdles: Braxton Brann's prelims time (7.83) was seventh in the field to advance him to the semifinals, where he ran a 7.95. On the women's side, Marcia Sey and Olivia Powell both qualified for the semifinals with times of 8.41 and 8.43, respectively. Sey led the way in the semifinals (8.29).
- 60m: Nazzio John ran a 6.73 in the semifinals after running a 6.74 in the prelims. Columba Effiong led the Buckeye women in the prelims (7.43). Â
- Long jump: Kayla Watson led the Buckeye women with a best mark of 5.84m / 19'2". Â Â Â Â
- 400m: On the men's side, Mason Louis led the Buckeyes in 13th among 80 finishers with a time of 46.58. Bryannia Murphy had the fastest OSU time among the women (53.42). Â Â
DAVID HEMERY VALENTINE INVITATIONAL
- 5000m championship: The Buckeyes wrapped up the day with a pair of strong performances in the women's championship. Daniella Santos ran a time faster than any other student-athlete in program history (16:07.33) in the event, just a couple seconds off the program record she set last season. Andrea Kuhn moved up to third in program history with a time of 16:10.63. Â Â Â Â Â Â
- 800m: Out of more than 300 finishers, Aniya Mosley was 29th (2:06.78). Â Â Â
- 3000m open: Audrey DeSantis led the Buckeyes with a season-best time of 9:57.73.
- Mile: Gia Napoleon had her fastest time of the season (4:46.87), finishing in the top-third of a field with more than 300 finishers. Â Â Â
- 3000m championship: Akemi Von Scherr led the Buckeyes with her season-best time of 9:44.39. Â Â Â Â
