COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 6 Ohio State men's gymnastics team (7-1) travels to No. 7 Penn State (10-3, 0-1 B1G) for the Buckeyes' first Big Ten meet of the season on Saturday at 4 p.m. The meet will be broadcast live on B1G+.
- Ohio State ranks sixth in the country with an average score of 397.633 after three meets this season.
- The Buckeyes beat Greenville in the season opener on Jan. 13 by a 395.000-387.350 margin and then finished first among six teams at the Navy Open on Jan. 20 with a team score of 397.300.
- Ohio State split a tri meet at No. 2 Oklahoma (411.500) and against Arizona State (379.000) last Saturday, earning the Buckeyes' highest team score of the season (400.600). OSU also earned season-best scores on four of the six events.
- In the tri meet, Zach Snyder tied for the highest vault score of the day with a career-high 15.000 and also had a career-best 13.800 on floor. His performance earned him Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week on Monday.
- Caden Spencer earned his fourth win of the season at last weekend's tri meet with a 14.300 on high bar. He's won parallel bars and high bar twice each through the season's first three meets.
- Parker Thackston competed at the Stanford Open in the last weekend in February, earning a career-best 14.750 on pommel horse to finish second in the competition. Thackston was named College Gymnastics Association (CGA)'s Co-Specialist of the Week the following Tuesday.
