Buckeyes Split Tri Meet at No. 2 Oklahoma, Against Arizona State

Ohio State scored a season-high 400.600 on Saturday night.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men's gymnastics team (7-1) split the tri meet with No. 2 Oklahoma and Arizona State on Saturday evening in Norman, Okla. The Buckeyes scored a season-high 400.600, while Oklahoma had 411.500 and Arizona State had 379.000.
Caden Spencer won the high bar competition with a 14.300, just one tenth shy of his career-high. Zach Snyder tied for the vault win with a 15.000.
How it Happened
Pommel Horse
Ohio State totaled a season-high 64.900 as a team on pommel horse to start the meet. Jesse Pakele led with a career-high 13.650 to finish third in the meet, followed by Parker Thackston's 13.400. Tyler Rockwood earned a season-best 13.150. Kristian Grahovski (13.000) and Chase Davenport-Mills (11.700) rounded out the OSU lineup.
Rings
The Buckeyes totaled 66.250 on rings, their second-best team score of the season. Donovan Hewitt and Kameron Nelson each earned a 13.500 to tie for third overall. Arthur Ashton was close behind (13.300). Pakele had an even 13.000 in his collegiate rings debut and Rockwood had a 12.950.
Floor
OSU totaled a season-high 68.650 on floor. Nelson finished second overall with a season-best 14.400 and Hayashi rounded out the podium with a season-best 13.900. Zach Snyder (career-high 13.800), Justin Ciccone (season-high 13.300) and Davenport-Mills (career-high 13.250) wrapped up the Buckeyes' showing.
Parallel Bars
The Buckeyes combined for 62.650 on parallel bars. Christian Bartolini's career-high 13.400 led the team. Grahovski also had a career-high 13.250. Hayashi also earned a 13.250, followed by Rockwood's 13.050 and Spencer's 9.700.
High Bar
Ohio State posted its best team high bar score of the season with a total of 65.450. Spencer led the competition with a 14.300. Grahovski tied for third (13.350), while Davenport-Mills (13.000), Thackston (12.900) and Hayashi (11.900) rounded out the OSU lineup.
Vault
The Buckeyes wrapped up the meet with their highest team score of the season (72.700). Snyder tied for the meet win with a career-high 15.000 and Ciccone tied his career-high 14.950 to finish third. Hewitt earned a season-high 14.350, while Nelson had a 14.250 and Hayashi had a season-high 14.150.

Head Coach Rustam Sharipov: "We had a few season-highs, which were the highlights, but we're still missing a lot from our full potential. We'll get back in the gym to grind away before we are back on the road next weekend at Penn State."
