
No. 7 Buckeyes Set for Sunday Match at Arizona State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 7-ranked Ohio State women's tennis team returns to action with a match at Arizona State Sunday. The teams will meet at 1 p.m. ET in Tempe, Ariz. Live statistics are available HERE. Both teams enter the match 6-3.

- The Buckeyes are a season-high No. 7 in the ITA team rankings this week. The squad was No. 14 to start the spring, moving to No. 13 and No. 12.
- In singles, Irina Cantos Siemers is No. 15, with Luciana Perry No. 68 and Sydni Ratliff No. 115.
- In doubles, Ohio State has two ranked pairs: No. 32 Perry/Ratliff and No. 36 Perry/Cantos.
- Ohio State is 8-1 all-time against Arizona State, including 5-0 in Columbus.
- The teams meet in the ITA Kickoff Weekend final in January, with Ohio State posting a 4-0 win. In that match, Ohio State won the doubles point and took a one-set lead in all six singles matches. Audrey Spencer, Irina Cantos Siemers and Teah Chavez all won in straight sets to clinch the team victory. Cantos and Spencer also teamed up for a doubles victory, with Sydni Ratliff and Luciana Perry clinching the doubles point.

- Irina Cantos Siemers broke the Buckeyes' all-time singles wins record in the match vs. UCLA. She now has 115 total singles wins.
- Her 201 combined singles/doubles wins rank third all-time, with Miho Kowase (2014-17) first (213) and Sandy Niehaus (2014-17) second (204).
- Ohio State last competed Feb. 9-11 at the ITA National Indoor Team Championship in Seattle, going 1-2 in the event. Ohio State opened with a 4-3 win over Georgia before falling to Stanford 4-1 and Texas 4-3.
- Cantos Siemers leads the Buckeyes with a 7-1 singles mark this spring, while Shelly Bereznyak is second with a 5-2 ledger. In doubles, the duo of Luciana Perry and Sydni Ratliff has a team-best 5-2 mark.
- The Buckeyes will return home for three matches in the Ty Tucker Tennis Center. After facing nonconference foes Washington March 3 and No. 13 Pepperdine March 8, Big Ten play opens with a match vs. No. 2 Michigan March 15.
