Chandler Posts Top 10 and Buckeyes Finish 7th at Watersound Inv.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior Jackson Chandler carded a final round 70 and finished in a tie for seventh at 6-under par. As a team, the Buckeyes finished seventh in a strong field at the Watersound Invitational at the Shark’s Tooth Golf Club in Panama City, Fla.
For Chandler, this was his first Top-10 of the season and the eighth of his career. His 6-under par finish is also the second-lowest 54-hole score of his career. He was 7-under at the Washington County Invitational in 2021 and 7-under at the Frederica Cup in the season-opening event in 2022. For the week, he made 14 birdies which was second-most in the field and tied for the second-most in an event in his career. He also led the field in par-5 scoring, playing them in 9-under par.
Maxwell Moldovan got off to a blazing start, making five birdies in the first eight holes. He cooled a bit but still carded a final 70 and finished the event at 1-under par and tied for 22nd. The Uniontown, Ohio native has been under-par in all six events this season. His 15 birdies this week were tied for most in the field.
Adam Wallin played his final 30 holes in 3-under par, including a final round 72, to finish in a tie for 34th at even-par. He now leads the team with 15 rounds at par or better this season. He has recorded just three over-par rounds this year.
Neal Shipley finished the event with a final round 75 and tied for 45th at 4-over par. Jacob Tarkany, who played as an individual, shot a 76 on Wednesday and was a shot back of Shipley at 5-over par. Freshman Jack Vojtko capped his tournament with a round of 78.
The Buckeyes will now have two and a half weeks before returning to action at the Hayt Invitational at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra, Fla. The tournament will run March 9-11.
