COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State senior gymnast Nicole Riccardi is the Big Ten's Specialist of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

In the Buckeyes' last meet at Iowa, Riccardi earned a 9.900 on vault and uneven bars. Her career high tying vault score helped the Buckeyes to a season best 49.400 on the apparatus.

The East Northport, N.Y. native's uneven bars routine tied for first. The event title is her second of the season in the event.

The award is Riccardi's first of her career. Ohio State has won three Big Ten Specialist of the Week honors this season.

Ohio State makes the trip to Penn State to compete at the Big Ten's Big Five Meet. The Buckeyes will compete against Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska and Rutgers at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 at Rec Hall. The meet will be televised on Big Ten Network.
