Buckeyes Set for Two-Game Series vs. No. 4 Badgers

The Basics
- The Ohio State men's hockey team is back in action this weekend with a two-game home series vs. No. 4 Wisconsin. Â
- The teams will meet at 6:30 p.m. Friday and 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
- Big Ten Plus will stream the series opener and game two will be televised by BTN and on the Fox Sports app. Ohio State Radio will carry the action on 1460 AM and the Ohio State Buckeyes app. Live statistics can be linked from OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
- There will be a jersey rally towel giveaway Friday. Saturday is the First Responders/Frontline Workers Appreciation Game. Fans can take pictures with first responder vehicles outside the arena prior to puck drop and can stick around following the game to watch the annual First Responder Face-Off game between Columbus Police and Fire.Â

- Ohio State is 9-15-4 on the year (1-15-2 0-0-2 B1G) and Wisconsin is 22-6-2 this season (13-4-1 1-1-1 B1G). The Buckeyes are coming off an open weekend and dropped two games to Michigan Feb. 2-3 in their last game action. Wisconsin swept Notre Dame in Madison last weekend.Â
- The Buckeyes and Badgers met on UW home ice Dec. 1-2, with Wisconsin posting a two-game sweep (3-0, 6-1). The teams last met in Columbus Oct. 7-8, 2022, a Buckeye sweep (3-1, 4-3).Â
- The series vs. the Badgers wraps up a four-game homestand for Ohio State. The squad heads to Michigan State next weekend and closes the regular season at home vs. Penn State March 1-2.Â
- This season, 22 of 23 Buckeye skaters have gotten on the scoresheet, including 20 goal scorers.
- Defenseman Scooter Brickey is first on the squad with 44 shot blocks. He shares the goal-scoring lead with nine and is third with 18 points, all career highs.
- Sophomore Stephen Halliday, who led the Buckeyes in assists (32) and points (41) as a freshman last season, has hit the 50-assist mark for his Ohio State career with a team-best 18 helpers this season.
- Ohio State is 22-for-102 (.216) on the power play this season, ranking 22nd nationally.
- In the 11 games since returning from break, the Buckeyes have 10 power play goals on 36 chances (.278). Â Â
- For the year, Patrick Guzzo has a team-best five power play goals, while Scooter Brickey and Stephen Halliday each have four. Cam Thiesing, Theo Wallberg and Caden Brown each have two. Davis Burnside, Thomas Weis and Michael Gildon have also scored on the power play.Â
- Halliday and Wallberg each have eight power play assists to lead the squad. Halliday has a team-best 12 power play points, with Brickey and Wallberg tied for second (10).
- In all, 14 Buckeyes have at least one point on the man advantage.Â
- After a trip to Michigan State Feb. 23-24, Ohio State will close the regular season with two games vs. Penn State in Columbus March 1-2. The Buckeye senior class will be recognized before game two vs. the Nittany Lions.
- The Buckeyes will be on the road for the quarterfinal round of the Big Ten Tournament. The best-of-three series will be held March 8-10 on campus sites. Â
