Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on BTN. (Jason Horowitz and Robbie Hummel will call the action.
The game can also be heard on the Ohio State Radio Network from Learfield. Paul Keels and former Buckeye captain Ron Stokes are on the call.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State is set to open the 113th season of Big Ten basketball this week with a pair of conference matchups. The first of which is on Wednesday night at Maryland. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on BTN. (Jason Horowitz and Robbie Hummel will call the action.

- The series between Ohio State and Maryland is tied at 11-11. The Buckeyes have won the last four meetings in Columbus and Maryland has won each of the last two in College Park.
- Since Maryland joined the Big Ten prior to the 2014-15 season, the Terrapins lead the series 9-7.
- Last year, the teams played a great game in Columbus that wasn't decided until double overtime. The Buckeyes prevailed 79-75 on Feb. 10, to snap a five-game losing skid. Bruce Thornton led the way with 24 points to go along with team-highs of seven rebounds and four assists.
- Ohio State is coming off a tough 91-90 overtime setback against Pitt last Friday where the Panthers hit a game-winning three-pointer in the final second. Bruce Thornton led the team with his first double-double of the year, finishing with 24 points and 10 assists.
- The Buckeyes are 5-2 overall on the season and are No. 11 in the first NET rankings of the season.
- Ohio State has shot better than 50 percent in each of the last four games, marking the first time the Buckeyes have done that since the 2016 season. They haven't shot better than 50 percent in five consecutive games since the 2013 season.
- The Buckeyes are tops in the Big Ten in effective field goal percentage (60.6 percent) and three-point percentage (44.8 percent). They rank in the Top 10 nationally in both categories.
- The Buckeyes are also in the Top 10 in the country in overall field goal defense, limiting opponents to just 35.8 percent shooting.
- The Buckeyes have made 10 or more three-pointers in five of the seven games. Last year, the team made double-figure threes just eight times all season.
- They have made 38 three-pointers over the last three games, which is the best three-game stretch since early in the 2009 season.
- Thornton is third in the country with a 6.6-to-1 assist the turnover ratio, dishing out 46 assists with just seven turnovers on the year.
- Devin Royal is shooting over 70 percent from the floor and averaging 16.3 points and 8.5 rebounds over the last four games.
- Maryland enters the game at 7-1 overall. The lone loss came against Marquette (78-74) and the Terrapins own a 76-75 win over Villanova at a neutral site. Those are the only two games for the Terps against Power 5 teams this season.
