COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (11-13, 4-10 B1G) fell to Illinois (17-7, 9-5 B1G) in straight sets (18-25, 25-27, 20-25) on Saturday night in Champaign to wrap up the Buckeyes' road trip.
Illinois started quickly and earned a 25-18 win in the first set. The second set was tight throughout with 11 ties and five lead changes but the Illini ultimately won by a 27-25 margin. Despite a late push from Ohio State to get within two, UI wrapped up the match with a 25-20 win in the third set.
Olivia Hasbrook recorded 10+ digs for the 22nd time this season, leading the match with 18 digs. Emmi Sellman was the first to 10 kills and had a match-high 14 kills. Emily Londot had 10 kills, while Mia Tuman totaled 32 assists.

Illinois opened scoring and grabbed an early 4-1 lead. Ohio State called timeout trailing 12-7 after a 3-0 UI run. The Fighting Illini used an extended 9-1 run to take an 18-8 lead and the Buckeyes called timeout behind by a 22-11 margin. Ohio State used a 7-1 run to trim its deficit to 24-18, forcing a UI timeout after four unanswered Buckeye points, but Illinois claimed a 25-18 set win.
Ohio State scored first in the second set and used a 3-0 run to take a 5-3 lead, but Illinois tied the set at five. The teams traded points and the lead but the Fighting Illini used a 3-0 run to take a 10-7 lead. The Buckeyes strung together four-consecutive points to tie the set at 13 on a block from Eloise Brandewie and Grace Egan, forcing an Illinois timeout. OSU called timeout after a 3-0 UI run gave the Illini a 17-14 lead. The Buckeyes tied the set at 18 following a 3-0 run, but the Illini responded with the next two points. The teams alternated scoring and Ohio State called timeout trailing 24-22. The Buckeyes scored the next three points to take a 25-24 lead but the Fighting Illini scored the final three points of the set to earn a 27-25 set victory.
The Fighting Illini scored first in the third set and built an early 8-4 lead on the back of a 3-0 run, prompting a Buckeye timeout. UI stretched its lead to 14-6 but OSU used back-to-back Sellman aces to score three points in a row in response. The Illini led by a 21-14 margin but the Buckeyes used a 5-0 run to cut their deficit to 21-19. Ohio State would get no closer as Illinois closed the match with a 25-20 set win.
