Ohio State Begins Four-Match Home Stand Friday and Saturday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (11-13, 4-10 B1G) hosts Maryland (12-13, 3-11 B1G) on Friday and Rutgers (5-20, 0-14 B1G) on Saturday inside the Covelli Center. Both matches will be broadcast live on B1G+ at 7 p.m. Parking for all home matches is free.

Friday's match is the Our Honor Defend match to honor military and first responders. In partnership with VetTix, veterans and currently serving members of the military can claim complimentary tickets to the match by clicking HERE. Additionally, service members can enjoy a 20% off discount at the concession stand throughout the match. There will also be a student pit vipers giveaway for the first 350 Ohio State students and a youth spirit performance after the second set.

On Saturday, the Buckeyes will honor the men's volleyball team as the men receive their championship rings. Following the match, Ohio State will have its last meet and greet of the season on the concourse.

- Ohio State fell to Illinois in straight sets (18-25, 25-27, 20-25) this past Saturday to wrap up the Buckeyes' road trip. This weekend begins OSU's four-match home stand.
- Emmi Sellman led the match with 14 kills, while Emily Londot also reached double figures (10). Olivia Hasbrook recorded a match-leading 18 digs - the most by a Buckeye in a three-set match this season.
- Maryland enters Friday's match with a 12-13 record this season and a 3-11 mark in Big Ten play. The Terrapins have won their last two matches, earning victories against Michigan State and UCLA last weekend.
- The Terps other Big Ten win was against Rutgers at the beginning of October. Maryland won its final eight non-conference matches.
- Samantha Schnitta leads the UMD offense with 3.39 kills/set. Defensively, Lilly Gunter leads Maryland's back row with 3.34 digs/set.
- Ohio State leads the all-time series with Maryland 17-7 and is 11-1 when facing the Terrapins in Columbus.
- Last season each team won on its home court with Ohio State earning a sweep at home (25-23, 25-22, 25-12) on Oct. 1 and Maryland earning a sweep in College Park (25-23, 25-19, 25-23) on Nov. 12.
- In the match in Columbus, the Buckeye defense forced the Terrapins to hit in the red (-.098) in the match and allowed no UMD player more than five kills. Emily Londot led the OSU offense with 12 kills. Londot also led the road match with 17 kills.
- Rutgers enters the weekend with a 5-20 record and is 0-14 in Big Ten play. The Scarlet Knights are slated to play at No. 8 Purdue on Thrusday evening.
- Rutgers' wins came against North Texas, Louisiana Tech, LIU, VCU and UMES.
- Alissa Kinkela leads the Scarlet Knights' offense with 3.28 kills/set. Natalie Robinson ranks seventh in the conference with 1.28 blocks/set.
- Ohio State leads 19-1 in the all-time series with Rutgers and is 8-0 in Columbus.
- Last season, the Buckeyes won both meetings in four sets - on the road on Oct. 6 (25-21, 26-24, 18-25, 25-14) and at home on Nov. 25 (23-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-21).
- In the Oct. 6 meeting, Emily Londot led all players with 20 kills and added 12 digs. Kaitlyn Hoffman had 16 digs. In the season finale, Londot had a career-high 36 kills.
