Buglioni's two-goal game helped the Buckeyes (3-2-0, 2-2-0 WCHA) to their first nonconference victory of the season.
How it Happened
- For the first time this season, the Buckeyes' opponent scored first with St. Lawrence lighting the lamp at 11:59 in the first period to take a 1-0 lead.
- Buglioni tallied her first goal of the evening at 16:18 in the first period to tie the game. The graduate forward capitalized off a rebounded shot from linemate Maddi Wheeler and backhanded the puck past Saints' goaltender Emma-Sofie Nordström for the equalizer.
- St. Lawrence recorded the only goal of the second period, at 12:44 by Abby Hustler, to take a 2-1 lead into the second intermission.
- The Buckeyes evened the game at 2-2 off a goal by Jocelyn Amos at 9:10 in the third. The play was reviewed after being originally called no-goal but was later confirmed that Amos' shot through the legs of Norstrom in fact crossed over the goal line.
- In overtime, Buglioni, Emma Peschel and Makenna Webster were the first on the ice for the Buckeyes to start. And the team needed just one shift to win as Webster collected the faceoff taken by Buglioni and gave the puck back to Buglioni to send another backhanded shot past Nordström at 0:07.
- Buglioni's two-goal game is her first multi-goal game of the season and her eighth multi-goal game of her career.
- Buckeye goaltender Amanda Thiele finished the game with 12 saves to improve to 2-1-0 on the year.
- The game was the first overtime contest Ohio State has played this season.
- In addition to scoring a goal, Amos went 14-1 (.933) from the faceoff dot to help the Buckeyes lead 32-18 in faceoffs on the day.
- Defender Emma Peschel was on the ice for all three of the Buckeyes' goals Friday night.
