COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 21 Ohio State women’s soccer finishes the regular season on Sunday in a noon match against No. 15 Penn State at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The match will be streamed on B1G+.
Admission and parking are free for all Ohio State women’s soccer matches.
- The Buckeyes have already qualified for the 10-team Big Ten Tournament but can still finish anywhere between 5th and 10th in the standings based on Sunday's results.
- This will be the 37th all-time meeting between the two programs with the Lady Lions leading the all-time series 26-8-2.
- Ohio State has won two of the last three meetings with Penn State and has defeated a ranked Lady Lions team seven times.
- Last year, Peyton McNamara staked the Buckeyes to a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute but Kaitlyn MacBean tied the game just seven minutes later and then scored the game-winner in the 88th minute to give PSU a 2-1 victory in State College on Oct. 8.
- In the last meeting in Columbus in 2022, Ohio State scored three second half goals in an exciting 3-0 victory. Kayla Fischer scored the first goal of the game in the 73rd minute followed by Maddy Lowe and Emma Sears.
- Ohio State is coming off a tough west coast swing where it dropped 1-0 decisions to both No. 10 USC and No. 9 UCLA. Both goals came off penalty kicks.
- The Buckeyes are 10-4-3 overall and 5-3-2 in Big Ten play. They are ranked No. 21 in the coaches poll and are No. 18 in the RPI.
- Kailyn Dudukovich is still one of the Top 3 goal scorers nationally with 15 goals on the season. Her next goal will make her the program's solo leader in career goals scored as she is currently tied with Tiffany Cameron for the most with 40. She is also third in program history with 90 career points.
- Amanda Schlueter is second in the Big Ten with eight assists on the season.
- Dudukovich has 31 points and Schlueter has 24 points this season. Both totals are in the Top 25 nationally.
- Penn State enters the final weekend at 11-4-3 overall and tied with the Buckeyes at 5-3-2 in the Big Ten. The Lady Lions were also out west last week and drew 0-0 with UCLA before falling 2-1 to USC on Sunday. Kaitlyn MacBean leads the team with 13 goals and 27 points on the season.
