COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 7 Ohio State women's soccer is set to host Maryland Friday evening at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. It will be the annual Pink Match as the program will recognize individuals who have been affected by cancer. The match will kick off at 7 p.m. and be streamed on B1G+.
Admission and parking are free for all Ohio State women's soccer matches.
- Ohio State returns home to host Maryland on Friday evening in the lone match this week.
- This will be the 13th meeting between the two programs and the 12th meeting since Maryland joined the Big Ten Conference in 2014.
- The Buckeyes are 5-0-1 in Columbus against the Terrapins and have an outstanding 10-0-2 all-time record against Maryland.
- Last year vs. Maryland, Ohio State was the better side for the majority of the match but didn't have anything to show for it until Christin Baumbick scored with a minute to go, giving the Buckeyes a 1-0 victory on Sept. 24 in College Park.
- The win last year over Maryland was the 300th career victory for Ohio State head coach Lori Walker-Hock. She has an opportunity to hit another milestone against the Terrapins again this week. Walker-Hock's next victory will be her 300th as head coach at Ohio State. Now in her 28th season with the Buckeyes and 30th overall, she has amassed 299 wins at Ohio State and 312 for her career.
- Maryland enters the match at 3-6-4 overall and 0-4-1 in conference play. The Terrapins have been shutout in each of their five Big Ten matches, drawing Northwestern 0-0 last Thursday. The last win for Maryland was a 4-0 victory over VCU on Sept. 8.
- Ohio State pulled out another late victory last Sunday at Michigan, scoring twice in the second half, including the game-winner by Kailyn Dudukovich in the 86th minute, to secure a 2-1 victory at Michigan.
- The Buckeyes are 8-1-3 overall on the year, which marks the fewest losses through the first 12 matches of any season. They are currently tied for 5th in the Big Ten with 11 points and a 3-0-2 mark.
- Ohio State has risen to No. 7 in the latest USC rankings, its highest ranking since early in the 2011 season.
- In the RPI, the Buckeyes are No. 10 and have the eighth-toughest schedule in the country.
- Dudukovich had three goals last week in matches with MSU and UM and was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. She has 11 goals on the year which is third-most in the country and her six game-winning goals are the most of any player in the country.
- Amanda Schlueter has registered a point in each of the last six matches which includes five goals.
