Ohio State will run Friday morning in race hosted by Loyola
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Friday, the Ohio State men's and women's cross country teams will run in the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational hosted by Loyola at the Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course on Chicago's north side.

The Tom Cooney Championship races will start the day with the women's 6K at 11 a.m. ET and the men's 8K at 11:40 a.m. ET. The women's open division 6K will be at 12:20 p.m. ET and the men's open division 8K will wrap up action at 1 p.m. ET. Live results will be HERE.

Buckeye This and That
- Ohio State last raced Sept. 20 in the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis. The men had three Top 25 finishers in Zubin Jha, Weston Day and Kevin Agnew. Akemi Von Scherr was 17th to lead the women's squad.
- Two of the Buckeye men have been recognized with the B1G Freshman of the Week award. Jack Agnew was honored Sept. 4, with Weston Day earning the accolade Sept. 25.
- Jack Agnew, Kevin Agnew, Jha and Day have all been among the Top 5 men in the Buckeyes' first two races. Connor Long closed out the counters in the season-opening race and Kaleb Martin was in the Top 5 Buckeyes at Minnesota.
- For the women, Von Scherr, Audrey DeSantis and Teodora Iovi were counters in the first two races. Katie Castelli and Sydney Paul were also counters at Akron to open the year and Daniella Santos and Zoee Lehman, who both did not run at Akron, were counters at Minnesota.
- In the USFTFCCCA regional rankings released this week, the Buckeye women are seventh in the Great Lakes Region, with B1G schools No. 2 Wisconsin, No. 3 Michigan State and No. 5 Michigan in the Top 5. Ohio State's men are ninth in the region, with B1G schools No. 3 Wisconsin, No. 4 Michigan, No. 5 Michigan State, No. 6 Indiana and No. 7 Purdue in the Top 10.Â
- Jha and Santos were named B1G Preseason Runners to Watch entering the 2024 campaign.
- The Buckeyes will close out the regular season with Pre-Nationals at Wisconsin Oct. 19. Â There will be three races for each gender, starting with the women's A race at 11 a.m. ET and the men's A race at 11:40 a.m. ET.
- The postseason begins at the Big Ten Championships Nov. 1 in Champaign, Ill., with the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships Nov. 15 in Norton, Ohio, and the NCAA Championships in Madison, Wis., Nov. 23.
