Buckeyes Finish 6th at Blessings Collegiate

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State carded its lowest round of the week on Wednesday, finishing The Blessings Collegiate Invitational at the Blessings Golf Club with a round of 299. That left them in sixth place at 35-over.

Redshirt-sophomore Joe Wilson IV had a nice week as he carded rounds of 73-71-76 to finish tied for eighth at 4-over par. That was just the second Top 10 finish of his career and his best finish in three events this season.

Freshman Vaugh Harber rounded out his week with a 3-over 75. Wednesday was an up-and-down round for Harber but he finished strong, playing his final five holes in three-under par. He finished in a tie for 26th at 10-over.

Jack Vojtko ended the tournament with a 77 on Wednesday and was 31st at 13-over par. Tyler Sabo and Timotej Formanek each finished with their best rounds of the week, posting matching 74s and each finished a shot behind Vojtko at 14-over par.

The Buckeyes will continue their three-week stretch next week with another fun event back home. Ohio State will host the Barbara Nicklaus Cup at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. The event will consist of three match play rounds against Florida, Clemson and Charlotte. Similar to this week, it will be a joint event with the women's teams as the women will be competing against the same teams on the same course. An overall school winner will be crowned at the end of the week.

The first two matches will be played on Monday, Oct. 7, with the final match being contested on Tuesday morning.
