Buckeyes Win Dual Meet at Hawaii

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men's and women's swim teams both picked up victories against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors on Friday night in Honolulu. The No. 5 women defeated Hawaii. 160-96, and the No. 14 men earned a 154-109 victory.

The night opened with a win for the Buckeyes, with the relay team of Tristan Harrison, Hannah Bach, Katherine Zenick, and Teresa Ivan placing first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:40.84.

Gwen Woodbury (9:55.85), Maya Geringer (10:02.91), Mia Lachey (10:17.35), and Mia Rankin (10:17.43) finished 1-2-3-4 in the 1000 free. On the men's side, Charlie Clark (8:54.84), Sam Campbell (9:14.78), and Alex Metzler (9:22.20) took the top three spots.

Amy Fulmer won the 200 free, touching the wall at 1:47.74. Tomas Navikonis finished second for the men with a time of 1:38.42.

Harrison (54.67) and Morgan Kraus (55.79) finished first and second, respectively, in the 100 back. Luke Paxton placed second in the 100 back for the men, turning in a time of 49.85.

The 100 breast went to Josephine Panitz and Daniel Garcia. Panitz swam the event in 1:02.00 and Garcia finished in 54.91.

Jessica Eden finished second in the 200 fly for the women with a time of 2:01.55. Chachi Gustafson (1:48.80), Tristan Jankovics (1:48.94), and Metzler (1:61.46) finished 1-2-3 on the men's side.

Ivan was the winner of the women's 50 free with a time of 22.90.

In the 100 free, Fulmer (49.46) and Ivan (49.95) finished first and second, respectively. Ruslan Gaziev earned a win in the 100 free for the men with an NCAA B standard time of 43.37.

Paige Hall (1:59.19) and Kraus (2:02.58) took the top two spots in the 200 back. For the men, Paxton (1:49.48), Will Bansberg (1:49.46), and Owen Conley (1:50.32) finished first, second, and third.

Panitz picked up another win in the 200 breast with a time of 2:14.56. Billy Regan (1:58.79), Karl Helmuth (2:04.55), and Nathan Holty (2:05.08) took the top three spots on the men's side.

Woodbury and Clark both won their second distance event of the night, each placing first in the 500 free. Woodbury finished in 4:55.03 and Clark turned in a time of 4:23.13.

Zenick (54.82) and Gaziev (48.04) were the winners of the 100 fly.

Regan placed second in the 200 IM with a time of 1:50.14.

The Buckeyes closed out the night with a second-place finish in the men's 400 free relay, with the team of Mario McDonald, Jean-Pierre Khouzam, Shaw Satterfield and Pete Krusinski racing to a time of 2:59.38.
