COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State opens the spring portion of the schedule where the fall finished, in California for the Southwestern Invitational. Pepperdine will serve as host of the event which is being held at the North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, Calif. The 54-hole event will run Monday through Wednesday.

Ohio State's lineup this week will be Maxwell Moldovan, Neal Shipley, Adam Wallin, Patrick Schmucking, and Jack Vojtko. Jackson Chandler will play as an individual this week.
The Buckeyes played three fall events, finishing fourth of 15 at the Mirabel Maui Jim Intercollegiate, runner-up at the Hamptons Invitational and then sixth of 15 at the Cal Poly Invitational.

Maxwell Moldovan led the team in scoring in the fall at 69.11. He finished in the Top 20 in all three events with seven of his nine rounds coming at par or better. He opened the year with a career-low 65 at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate and then closed the Hamptons Invitational with a 66 en route to a fourth-place finish.
Neal Shipley also averaged sub-70 in the fall, finishing with a 69.67 scoring average. He led the team with 48 birdies in the nine rounds and posted the lowest round of the season with a 7-under 64 in the second round of the Maui Jim Intercollegiate.
Adam Wallin averaged right at 70.00 for his nine rounds in the fall. He leads the team with eight rounds at par of better and is the only player to have all nine rounds count towards the team score. He has a pair of Top 20 finishes, including a seventh-place finish at the Hamptons Invitational.
Patrick Schmucking played in two of the three events in the fall and averaged 72.50. His low round was a 5-under 66 in the final round of the Maui Jim Intercollegiate. That also happened to be the lowest round of his career.
Jack Vojtko is a freshman who graduated from Hoban High School in December and enrolled at Ohio State at the start of the spring semester. Vojtko played in both the US Amateur and US Junior Amateur this summer and was ranked 28^th in the 2024 class. He was a three-time Division I All-Ohio honoree and led Hoban to the 2020 state championship.
Jackson Chandler also played in two of the three events this fall, holding a 74.00 scoring average. The senior will be playing in his 38^th event this week.
12 of the 13 teams in the field are ranked in the Top 80 of the latest rankings. Ohio State is the fourth-highest ranked team behind Washington (No. 2), Cal (No. 18) and Texas Tech (No. 21).
The weather forecast is calling for temperatures in the low-to-mid 70s the first two days and then mid-60s on Wednesday with a slight chance of afternoon showers.
