Buckeyes Open Kickoff Weekend with 4-0 Win over Vanderbilt

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 1 Ohio State rushed past previously unbeaten Vanderbilt 4-0 on the opening day of the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Columbus.
This was the Buckeyes' fifth win in the first week of the season. They will look to stay undefeated when they play Boise State in the weekend's championship match at noon on Sunday. The Broncos outlasted Oregon 4-3 in a match that took nearly four and a half hours.
Ohio State is looking to advance to the ITA Indoor Team National Championship for the 15th time.
The Buckeyes set the tone against Vandy by dominating the doubles point. Andrew Lutschaunig and Justin Boulais rolled past Vanderbilt's top team and the No. 59 ranked team of Nathan Cox and Jeremie Casabon 6-0. Robert Cash and Bryce Nakashima clinched the point with a 6-2 win on court three.
Boulais and JJ Tracy, playing singles side-by-side on courts two and three, finished their matches nearly simultaneously. Boulais beat Joubert Klopper 6-2, 6-3 and Tracy continued his strong start to the year with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. He's dropped just a total of seven games in his four singles matches this year. The clinching point came from Cannon Kingsley as he beat Danil Panarin 6-3, 6-2 on court one.
