
Harris and Hodges Earn B1G Weekly Awards

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 11 Ohio State women's gymnastics team earned two of three Big Ten weekly gymnastics awards after its meet against Michigan on Sunday. Sophomore Payton Harris is the conference's co-Gymnast of the Week and graduate Ella Hodges was named Specialist of the Week.

Hodges' event specialist award is the second of her career. She led the team on beam and floor against Michigan. She finished second overall with a career high tying 9.950 on beam. The Winchester, Mass. native added a 9.925 on floor to tie for second overall. She has recorded three scores above 9.900 on floor in as many meets.

Harris won the all-around title in Sunday's meet against the Wolverines, scoring a season-high 39.600. The Franklin, Wis. native led the team with a 9.900 on vault and uneven bars. She added a 9.925 on beam for her third 9.900 of the meet. Harris' bars and beam score tied her career best and her 9.900 on vault was a season high. The award is Harris' second of the season.

Ohio State ends its homestand Monday, Jan. 29 against Illinois. The meet will start at 7 p.m. from the Covelli Center and will be televised on Big Ten Network. Tickets for the meet can be purchased HERE.
