
Four Buckeye Wins Cap Rod McCravy Invite on Saturday

The Buckeyes wrapped up opening weekend on Saturday at the Rod McCravy Memorial.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track & field team wrapped up the inaugural weekend of the 2024 indoor season on Saturday at the Rod McCravy Memorial, hosted by the University of Kentucky.
Aniya Mosley won the women's mile (4:53.67) and Leah Bertrand won the women's 60m (7.26). Completing the Buckeyes' sweep of the 60m was Nazzio John (6.72) on the men's side. Andrea Kuhn earned the Buckeye women's third win by finishing the 3,000m in 9:32.68.
- 60m: Behind Bertrand's win was Fatouma Conde in third (7.43).
- 60m hurdles: Braxton Brann was the runner-up (7.83) for the men, while Marcia Sey (8.25 – fifth) and Olivia Powell (8.42 – seventh) both made the finals for the women.
- 3000m: Giovanni Copploe led the Buckeye men as the runner-up (8:17.80), while Nathaniel Tamminga (8:23.92) and Sean Carney (8:24.26) rounded out the top-10.
- Mile: Carina Napoleon finished right behind Mosley with a time of 4:54.41 as the Buckeye women recorded the two-fastest times. Two OSU men finished in the top-10 – Alex Dediu in sixth (4:15.40) and Cooper Citro in 10th (4:18.66).
- 400m: Alex Kenish was the men's runner-up (48.99). Kena Shannon led the OSU women in 10th (58.30).
- 4x400m relay: Chanler Robinson, Bryannia Murphy, Conde and Powell finished third (3:43.16) as the Buckeye women's A squad. All three Buckeye men's relay teams finished in the top-10 with Antonio Hanson, Mason Louis, Noah Carmichael and Armani Modeste leading the way in third (3:12.38).
- Shot put: The Buckeye women had two qualify for the finals with Lacey Stringer finishing fourth (16.12m / 52'10.75") and Faith Bender finishing ninth (14.32m / 46'11.75"). Carlos Aviles led the Buckeye men in seventh place (17.52m / 57'5.75").
- Pole vault: Daniel Drellishak was fourth in the men's invitational section, clearing 4.88m / 16'0") on his second attempt.
- 800m: Jaxson Eckert was third (1:52.13) for the men. Lilly Eckels (2:16.87) and Amelia Figler (2:17.64) finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
- Triple jump: Christian Seibert made it to the finals, finishing ninth (13.09m / 42'11.50").
