COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's golf team is looking to clinch back-to-back titles as they once again open their season at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational. The 54-hole tournament will be held Sept. 11-12 at the University of New Mexico Championship Course in Albuquerque, N.M.

- The teams will play two rounds on Monday, Sept. 11, with the final round being played on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
- The UNM Championship Course is a par 72 and is 6,354 yards.
- In addition to the Buckeyes and UNM, Arizona State, Boise State, Cal, Denver, Iowa State, Kansas, Kent State, Northwestern, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, SMU, Texas State, UNLV, and a contingent of individuals from Texas, will be competing.
Buckeye Notes
- Ohio State opened the 2022-23 season placing first at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational. The team shot an overall score of 853 (-11), which is the sixth-best 54-hole score in program history. The Buckeyes were one of only two teams to finish under par and had a 10-stroke lead on the second-place team.
- This week's starting lineup will be Caley McGinty, Faith Choi, Jillian Bourdage, Emily Hummer, and Kailie Vongsaga. Freshman Kavya Ajjarapu will make her Ohio State debut and compete as an individual.
- McGinty, who was named a Big Ten Player to Watch, played in 30 rounds in 2022-23 and averaged a score of 72.33. She finished tied for sixth at last year's Dick McGuire with a 54-hole score of 214 (-2). McGinty earned her best finish of the season at the Westbrook Invitational, which she won with a 54-hole score of 207 (-9). She also set a single-round program record when she fired a 63 (-9) in the final round at the Mountain View Collegiate.
- Choi played in 15 rounds last season and averaged a 76.13 per round. Her best finish of the season came at the Jim West Challenge; she tied for 21st with an overall score of 217 (+1).
- Bourdage competed in 10 tournaments, totaling 29 rounds of play. She shot an average score of 75.00 per round. She tied for 23rd at last season's Dick McGuire, which was her highest finish of the season. Bourdage carded a 54-hole total score of 219 (+3).
- Hummer played in two tournaments last season and averaged a 76.00. She carded her best round, a plus-one 72, in the first round of the Therese Hession Regional Challenge.
- Vongsaga played 14 rounds in 2022-23 and averaged a score of 74.70 per round. Her highest finish of the season came at the Lady Buckeye Invitational, where she tied for 14th place with a season-best score of 217 (+1).
- The Buckeyes are again participating in the Folds of Honor program this year and will honor fallen Ohio State police officer Michael Blankenship. Choi has been chosen by her teammates to carry the Folds of Honor bag this week.
