COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State will host its annual Pink Game this Sunday when Illinois comes to Columbus for a matinee. The program will honor those who are fighting or who have fought of who have lost loved ones to cancer during the match and all fans are encouraged to wear pink. The match will kick at noon. and will be streamed live on the B1G+.
Admission and parking are free for all Ohio State women's soccer matches.
- The Buckeyes are 13-9-4 all-time against Illinois and are unbeaten in their last six meetings with the Illini.
- Last year, the Buckeyes rolled to a 6-1 victory in Champaign behind a hat trick from senior forward Kayla Fischer. Kailyn Dudukovich and Christin Baumbick also added goals in the game. The hat trick was the first and only of Fischer's career.
- The Buckeyes are 3-3-1 all-time on Oct. 1, with the last win coming in 2004 vs. Michigan State, a 2-1 overtime victory.
- Ohio State improved its record to 6-3-2 on the season after its 2-1 victory over previously unbeaten and No. 16 Indiana on Thursday night. It was the Buckeyes' second win in a row and they improved to 3-0-1 against IU since 2020.
- Emma Sears assisted on both goals against Indiana and now has seven points in just six games this season. Her 62 career points are 12th-best in program history.
- Illinois has a similar overall record to Ohio State at 5-3-3 and 1-1-2 in the conference following a 0-0 draw at Northwestern on Thursday night. After a win over Loyola Chicago to open the season, the Illini went on a five-match non-conference road swing that saw them go 2-2-1. Illinois hasn't given up more than two goals in any match this season.
- Head coach Lori Walker-Hock secured her 300th career victory last Sunday at Maryland. She is now the 33rd active coach with 300 career victories. 288 of her 301 wins have come as a Buckeye as this is her 27th year at Ohio State and her 29th year overall.
- Sunday's match is a clash between two former North Carolina All-Americans and National Champions in Lori Walker-Hock and Janet Rayfield. Walker-Hock played at UNC from 1988-91 and Rayfield from 1979-82.
- Junior forward Kailyn Dudukovich leads the team with eight goals and four assists for 20 points.
