COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State heads east to continue Big Ten play this weekend in College Park against the Maryland Terrapins. First touch is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday and the game will be streamed live on B1G+.
- This will be only the 12th meeting between the two programs and the 11th meeting since Maryland joined the Big Ten Conference in 2014.
- The Buckeyes are 4-0-1 in College Park and have an outstanding 9-0-2 all-time record against Maryland.
- Last year vs. Maryland, the Buckeyes rolled to a 7-0 victory in Columbus. Five of the goals came in the first 22 minutes and the seven total goals were tied for the most against a Big Ten team in program history. Kailyn Dudukovich netted a hat trick while Emma Sears scored twice and Kine Flotre notched the sixth goal of her career. Sydney Jones tied a career high with a pair of assists.
- Ohio State lost for the first time in its last six matches on Thursday, falling 2-1 to Nebraska. Emma Sears scored in the 76th minute to tie the match at 1-1 but Nebraska responded right back with a goal less than two minutes later. That would prove to be the game-winner.
- The Buckeyes are 4-3-2 on the year and have opened conference play 0-1-1 following a tie last Sunday at Michigan State.
- Maryland is coming off a 0-0 at home vs. Purdue on Thursday night. The Terrapins had four ties in their first five matches of the season before winning three consecutive matches against Towson, George Mason and Binghamton. Maryland also lost last Sunday 4-0 at Penn State to open Big Ten play.
- Head coach Lori Walker-Hock enters Thursday's match seeking the 300th win of her career. She is in her 27th season with the Buckeyes and her 29th overall as a head coach. She is looking to become the 33rd active coach with 300 career victories. 286 of her 299 wins have come as a Buckeye.
- Senior Emma Sears has played in four matches this season and has a pair of goals and an assist. She now has 24 goals in her career, which is tied for 12th in program history.
- Junior forward Kailyn Dudukovich leads the team with seven goals and four assists for 18 points. Her 2.00 points per game are tied for third-best in the conference.
