How it Happened
Nebraska struck first with a goal in the 25th minute as Sarah Weber finished a cross right in front of the net. The score stayed 1-0 Cornhuskers through the first 45 minutes.
In the second half, the Buckeyes came out more aggressive and were pushing for the equalizer. It finally came with less than 15 minutes to play as Brooke Otto played a ball up the left sideline that Schlueter corralled and took to the endline. She then crossed to an open Sears in the box and the Dublin, Ohio native finished with her right foot to pull the Buckeyes even at 1-1.
The goal put a charge into the crowd, but Nebraska would respond with a goal less than two minutes later as Weber picked up her second of the night. The Huskers then withstood a couple of strong late chances from the Buckeyes and would hold on for a 2-1.
